Chez Mark Twain in red

Takto to ďalej nejde! Ten čas sa predsa musí nájsť. Idem si vstúpiť do svedomia, zaktualizovať kontakty a začať s opätovným stretávaním.
I opened my diary – because I'm going to rewrite the duties from the paper form to digital and it dropped few cards from my distant relatives and friends. Each has a new job, so that means also new mail and different phone number. They all want to see me, go for coffee or lunch and I still do not have time - it's starting to be too embarrassing. Thus it is not on! The time is to be found. For conscience sake I’m going to update contacts and re-start meeting.

Možno bez slov či dlhého intelektuálneho rozhovoru, no o to úprimnejšie. Už potrebujem ľudí a svieži vzduch. Žiadne vysedávania za kompom v tridsaťstupňových teplotách!
Perhaps you agree with me that friendships can be cultivated by meeting at least four times per year. Not only communication by mail, that there is no time to talk. The truth is that if you have a solid partnership, perceived reality seems different. Everything else is behind – and friendships from high school or university are relegated to the sidelines. When the relationship starts to weaken – wrong things happen on all fronts, there is nobody to ask for support. Because it is neccessary to share also those nice things with your friends, not just put out a disaster and deal with sad issues.
Simply from today i would like to keep this commitment: no excuses and misleadings to respond to an meeting-offer from old friends. If you really want to meet someone, then meet. If I see you during the Grape Festival or anywhere else i will hug you all – you would be surprised. Perhaps no words or a long intellectual conversation, but it will be true and honest. I need people and fresh air. No sitting behind the computer in these 30 C temperatures!

Leto nás skúša, teda skôr matka príroda so svojimi klimatickými zmenami – za ktoré si v konečnom dôsledku môžeme svojou ignoráciou a pôžitkárstvom sami. Kiežby každá zmena počasia a letný lejak neznamenal aj búrku a nepokoj v našich dušiach. Kiežby sme len precitli a menili naše konanie smerom k prostrediu, v ktorom fungujeme. Dýchať čistý vzduch či užívať si ticho v európskej metropole je čoraz zriedkavejší jav.... Ale nerezignujme!
Minimálne dvakrát denne míňam Dóm sv. Martina. Vlastne nemíňam, vždy sa pred bránou zastavím a premýšlam. Ráno aj večer, no ráno dlhšie – v rámci môjho štartovacieho rituálu. Nie je nič lepšie, ako chodiť do práce pred siedmou a v uliciach Starého mesta stretávať len zblúdilých turistov a zásobovacie autá – vychutnávať si ten dočasný pokoj. Vyslovene si tú povinnú prechádzku každé ráno užívam – s vypnutým zvonením na ajfoune, no s vhodným hudobným prívalom do uší. A potom už premazanie emailov, prezretie sociálnych sietí, lichôtka cez chat či sms najbližším a ide sa pracovať!
Summer is testing us, or better say: mother nature is behaving with its climate change – for which we are ultimately responsible because of our ignorance and self indulgence. Would that every change of weather and summer storm did not also cause storm and turmoil in our souls. May we only wake up and change our behavior towards the environment in which we operate. Breathing fresh air and enjoying the silence in the capital city is becoming increasingly rare phenomenon.... But don’t resign!
At least twice a day I use to pass St. Martin cathedral. Actually not only pass, but always stop and think at the gate. Everyday: morning and evening, but longer in the morning – as the part of of my start-ritual. There is nothing better than to go to work before seven in the streets of the Old Town, meet only strange tourists and supply trucks – enjoying that temporary calm. I have to say I like this mandatory walk every morning – with ringing off the iphone, but with full ipod of good music to my ears. And then: read and erase emails, check social network updates, send supportative or fluffy greeting via chat or message to my close people and let’s work!

Všetko si do bodky pamätám, akoby to bolo včera. Čo takto skúsiť to ešte dnes? Kto tam bude prvý? Mňa neprehliadnete! Červené pančuchy a baretka to istia…
Creative work ten hours a day in the summer is almost unfeasible, although we are located in a cold historic building in the city center. Simply before this hot weather we can not escape. But then in the evening: walk from the Old City along the Danube river home to Dlhe diely quarter – my other ritual, where I can’t forget to stop at Mark Twain. Chez Mark Twain. Not that literate historical figure, but irreplaceable space in Bratislava, that can’t be forgotten.
On this permanently anchored boat on the Danube, transformed to strange pub, I shot the film one year ago. I was focused on the opinions of young Slovak men and women about humanitarian aid and development cooperation in developing countries. All the details I remember like it was yesterday. And the most effective ripple through the waves of the Danube and random thoughts of the respondents? Bold colors. Why not try it with red? What so try it today? Who will be there first? I will be not missed! Find red tights and beret...
